The Presidential Volunteer Service Award Program was established in 2003 to recognize the important role of volunteer service in America. The award honors Individuals, families and groups that have achieved a specific number of volunteer hours of service in a 12 month period that positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation. Examples of service hours could be volunteering at a non-profit equine rescue, your church, your school, in your community, working the gate or presenting ribbons at a horse show, helping at a food bank, serving on a non-profit association committee….the possibilities are endless!

The Minnesota High School Equestrian Association is an approved certifying organization with the PVSA program. MHSEA members are encouraged to become active volunteers in the horse industry and in their community. Members participate by recording their volunteer hours on a log sheet to meet the hourly criteria of their age group. Pins, Certificates and a Congratulatory Letters from the President of the United States are awarded to recipients meeting their goal. Find out more information about the PVSA program at www.presidentialserviceawards.gov
